The Score

A fairly paint by numbers heist film, The Score has excellent acting by Robert De Niro and Edward Norton. The interplay between the two leads is top notch. There is an easiness when they speak to one another, like old friends having a beer and talking about the old days. It just flows very well. The story and directing are good, as the movie is guided through the typical “it can’t be done” scenario. However, I have to admit to sometimes get caught up in a movie because of my affection toward movie acting icons. Marlon Brando is such an icon. His mannerisms and acting choices with his eyes are phenomenal. He just takes you from one direction to another, never giving letting learn all of his thoughts and pulling you along side him as he plays out a scene. Just exceptional acting ability. Pickup the popcorn and settle in, just a fun watch. 3 stars
